GODS, GENES & CONSCIOUSNESS: Nonhuman Intervention in Human History
by Paul Von Ward (2004)
"Are we alone in the universe?" is the first fundamental question of conscious beings. The second question of an awakening consciousness is, "Has there been contact?" The third is, "To what effect?" This book provides answers to these questions that one can easily confirm in history, science, and human experience. (Read Paul's personal overview here ...)
ABs, or Advanced Beings, refers to all categories of non-human, conscious entities involved in human affairs. They range from flesh-and-blood beings, "the gods who walked with men of old," to the nonphysical and invisible entities who spoke to Moses, Mohammed, Joseph Smith, and thousands of others. To ethereal voices like Seth, the Pleiadians, and others who channel messages through individuals. To the voices of prophecy. To spirit guides and higher selves, and levels of consciousness tapped by Steiner, Cayce, Tesla, Einstein and others.
Use of the term, "advanced being," does not imply that they are more advanced than humans in all respects. They have simply been experienced as having powers or technologies not available to humans. These powers may be like those of an angel who can appear and disappear instantaneously, or may involve the use of sophisticated technologies by flesh-and-blood ETs, whose spacecraft exceed current human scientific understanding. The primary focus and approach of this book is to demystify the so-called other-worldly or divine communications or beings. All such phenomena fit in our natural universe.
A MAY 2007 AMAZON.COM REVIEW: I cannot recommend this book too strongly for anyone serious about understanding both our human past and the implications of it for our current evolution of consciousness and improvement of society. I do a lot of reading in several related disciplines and this has been the single most helpful book I have read in many years. It has connected the dots in some key areas where I had yet had "blanks."
My extensive formal and personal study in Christian theology/Biblical studies, psychology, cosmology, the "paranormal," and such have led me to find that virtually every element of the author's historical reconstruction rings true. That is not to deny that some aspects of it are necessarily a bit speculative, as Von Ward would acknowledge. But the critical outline of the story is significantly in tune with the clear implications coming out of the fields mentioned, and others, particularly archaeology.
Especially helpful and on-the-money is Von Ward's explanation of how and why theology and science, via the institutions that drive them, both avoid the kind of observations he brings out. This is massively important for our society and the world. He has new conclusions I've not encountered before, but they are based on solid work by many scholars in various fields. Now, these scholars are often not in the mainstream for the very reason that the mainstream tends to avoid looking at the larger picture.
So, if you are tied to only conventional, "accepted" authorities, this book may not be convincing. Still, I'd hope you would give it a hearing, and perhaps follow up on some of the many great footnotes and bibliography, which are extensive. All readers: do take the time to look up the footnotes, even if you read them all at once as I tend to often, to avoid constant flipping back and forth--there are many gems there.
This book is so valuable, I wish there were a way to get it to be standard reading, at least in the many relevant courses in a college curriculum. It is important as a stimulator of further questioning and research, as well as in its conclusions. Besides academia, it is a must-read for all serious seekers of an understanding of where we come from and where we are going--and OUR OWN POWER to affect that. Reviewed by Howard Pepper, President of Nurture Press.
Some of the hypotheses covered in this book are:
- During the Homo sapiens' natural path of development on earth, more advanced beings (ABs) entered the picture. The intervention of their colonies and cataclysmic physical events have dramatically shaped human history.
- Modern history is largely the story of human survivors from the last major cataclysm that greatly altered the surface of our planet. A significant element of the story is a period of AB technical assistance to the survivors.
- A symbiotic relationship developed between humans and the AB colonies that has influenced human development to the present time.
- As the ABs deserted their Earth colonies, humans experienced separation anxiety and developed supernatural religions that retarded the intellectual and psychological maturation of the species.
- Two major impacts of the human-AB experience have been the development of what may be called primary materialism (focused on technical domination of nature) and exclusive supernaturalism (the separation of humans from the creative powers of the universe).
- This dual diversion from the natural perspective of viewing human life as an integral part of a conscious, self-learning universe caused the atrophying of human awareness of and conscious use of their inner senses.
- The fractured human consciousness must be restored to its wholeness, with a synthesis of all ways of knowing, if humanity is to achieve its natural potential.
Paul Von Ward, a thought-provoking and powerful speaker, engages his audience in a profound expansion of consciousness. He can be contacted for lectures, seminars, and workshops on a variety of related themes and topics. For more information, e-mail the author: paul@vonward.com.

THE SOUL GENOME: Science and
Reincarnation
by Paul Von Ward (2008)
The Latin-based word "reincarnation" and its antecedents in Greek, Sanskrit, Bantu, and many other languages have focused conversations in all cultures for millennia. But what do they really mean?
Most concepts of reincarnation emphasize its role in a spiritual realm. Some books have led to a view that reincarnation involves only special cases of distinctive physical markings, unexplained memories, or a trauma from a previous life that can be healed in this one. Even secular discussions of reincarnation often use mystical terms, unrelated to everyday life.
The different forms of alleged evidence for reincarnation have never been subjected to a mainstream, scientific examination of the possibility that it may be a natural phenomenon. Wouldn't it make sense that if the Dalai Lama or other special cases indicate some form of past-life links, it is equally likely that all of us are influenced by the same process? Given the widespread reports of hypothetical cases, could "reincarnation" be a universal aspect of Homo sapiens' physical and conscious evolution?
A pilot project initiated by Paul Von Ward in early 2005 involves a scientific approach to answering such questions. Reported in his new book, The Soul Genome: Science and Reincarnation, the project evaluates various cases, examines alternative explanations, and considers their implications. The project Reincarnation Experiment completed tests of a theoretical model that suggests human reproduction (and probably that of other species) involves an info-energetic psychoplasm that encompasses the physical genome.
His book and the project's evolving web site invite public testing of the methodology and help in refinement of the model. While there is still much work to be done, the preliminary evidence highlighted in the book raises some tantalizing issues, including the origin of the knowledge and skills of prodigies in music, mathematics, and other fields.
Paul asks his readers to “Contemplate that what you study in school or college, where you live and work, whom you marry, or not, how you spend your free time, who your friends are, and what you feel about it may reflect the influence of events in centuries past. What difference would it make if you learned that how you interpret global, national, neighborhood, and family affairs may be based on more than what you have learned since birth?”
Thought-provoking evidence evaluated by the project suggests that you may be predisposed by the experiences of one or more humans who lived in the past. It raises the possibility that even if you don’t know who they were, their “soulprints” may be evident in you today.
Without recourse to extra-dimensional or solely personal information, Paul evaluated the empirical evidence for reincarnation in scores of cases. He concluded that thousands of proposed past-life connections can be more logically explained by the psychoplasm or soul-genome concept than by any other theory.
Paul says, “In my research, I found that much more verifiable data supported individual past-life connections than have been reported by other books in the field. Illustrative cases highlighted in the book (and on the project website) include both ordinary folks as well as known historical figures. All these cases are documented and evaluated according to the new integral research model developed during the first stages of the Reincarnation Experiment.”
The Soul Genome brings a totally new perspective to reincarnation. Its subtitle, Science and Reincarnation, suggests why. It subjects what has been thought of as a nebulous concept of spiritual, metaphysical, or transpersonal worldviews, to an examination through the lens of 21st-century science. As an interdisciplinary cosmologist, Paul brings reincarnation down to Earth to ascertain its tangible features and explore its implications for Homo sapiens.
Although this mini-hypothesis must still be labeled speculative, reading about this project's well-developed case studies may change the way you think about human behavior.

OUR SOLARIAN LEGACY: Multidimential Humans in a Self-Learning Universe
by Paul Von Ward (2001)
Our Solarian Legacy: Multidimensional Humans in a Self-Learning Universe takes the principles and insights from Paul Von Ward's earlier book Solarian Legacy: Metascience & A New Renaissance to the next level, revealing the purposeful nature of the universe and the Homo sapiens role in it. This new book up-dates the earlier scientific research and expands on its implications. It explains how humans can benefit from experience and, with increased awareness, choose their destiny as self-learning manifestations of universal consciousness.
Excerpts:
"Are you ready, in the company of frontier scientists and metaphysicians, to engage in an assessment of many of society's most cherished assumptions about the history of the Earth and its human inhabitants?...If you are, I promise a dramatically reshaped perspective on the human legacy and, consequently, on your approach to daily life...."
"Profound advancements in human knowledge over the past several decades beg for a beyond-the-millennium review of what I call Our Solarian Legacy....The evidence is now clear that we are more than mere byproducts of the planet Earth. Humans are not the accidental result of a random Big Bang universe that created life "by chance." Neither are they unique creatures born in a Garden of Eden subject to the absentee parenting of an anthropomorphic (made in the image of man) god. Humans are local manifestations of a universal consciousness that informs all life. If we are not yet cosmic beings, we are at least Solarians, with a heritage in the stars. in our Solarian microcosm, I believe, humans mirror all the characteristics of a powerful self-learning organism...the universe itself...."
"When individual aspects of nature exhibit the capacity for learning from experience, as evidence indicates, we can reasonably infer that the whole organism (including humans) is engaged in a process of self-learning."

DISMANTLING THE PYRAMID: Government by the People
by Paul Von Ward (1981)
This book analyzes the current unsatisfactory situation, points to organizational and human alternatives, and suggests a process for the dethroning of bureaucracy. It calls for a new vision of the human potential in public service and a creative, joint government and citizen effort to realize in practice the self-renewing principles on which the United States was founded.
The Problem of Societal Decline
In this period of significant change in the world, what role does the federal bureaucracy play in the retardation of American social and economic progress? Why is the United States faced with a problem of serious institutional flabbiness at the beginning of its 3rd Century? (See the Introduction.)
The Bureaucratic Problematique
Why does the merit system result in mediocrity? How has the pyramidal myth of organizations led to waste and inefficiency? What is wrong with the concept of officialdom? Why do scientific management techniques result in chaos? Why is it impossible to have a public service that is independent and serves the public? (See Part I.)
From Millstone to Stepping Stone
Why have so many reorganization and reform efforts in government failed? How is it possible to get the federal government in shape to serve the country well in America's 3rd Century? What are the real causes of ineffectiveness in the federal bureaucracy? How does the definition of the problem shape the solution? (See Part II.)
Self-Correcting Institutions
Is it possible to develop public organizations that are open to the public, accountable to it, and able to adjust to the challenges of changing circumstances? How can the goal of "government by the people" be realized in our time? (See Chapter 7.)
Committees of Correspondence
How can a few people start a peaceful revolution that reshapes the nature of bureaucratic government? (See Chapter 8.)
Dismantling the Pyramid is currently out of print but is available (1) as a PDF file on this site at the Book Orders page and (2) through the interlibrary loan system, or (3) used copies are available on Amazon.com and E-Bay.com. (ISBN 0-939202-14-X, Published by Delphi Press, Washington, DC, 1981)
